Growth oriented i3 Energy Canada Ltd. is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to fulfill the responsibilities of a Production Engineer/Engineering Technologist reporting to the Production Manager.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Stewardship of i3's priority on Health, Safety and Environment by Actively participating in and promote HSE initiatives.
  • Work with Field Operations to monitor and meet production targets while optimizing production and maximizing value within operating budgets.
  • Monitor, evaluate and optimize well production by making recommendations for optimization/completion/work over candidates to maximize the company's oil and natural gas production.
  • Stewardship of cost saving initiatives to reduce operating costs.
  • Support the new drills program through the artificial lift recommendation/design while collaborating with the facility engineering on the pipeline and facility design.
  • Working with operations and facility engineering to identify and evaluate infrastructure debottlenecking and consolidation opportunities.
  • Liaise with Production Accounting, Financial Accounting, Marketing and Joint Ventures as required.

Other requirements:

  • Travel to the field to interact with Operations as required.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have 3 to 7+ years of industry experience. Field experience is a bonus.
  • Post-secondary education or combination of relevant experience and education.
  • In-depth understanding of artificial lift systems (rod pump, plungers, ESP and gas lift preferred)
  • Understanding of facility process (compression, dehydration and refrigeration units).
  • Knowledge of Alberta and BC directives.
  • Demonstrates organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage a diverse workload.
  • Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing business environment.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and oral skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with MS Office products, particularly Excel.
  • Working knowledge of data analytics with a focus on Power BI is a bonus.
  • Class 5 driver's license or equivalent
