Description Journeyperson Mechanic Location:
Edmonton, AB SOUTHLAND is currently looking for experienced Mechanics to join our team in Edmonton. Current openings are for Journeyperson Mechanics (either Heavy Duty or Automotive).

Journeyperson Mechanics are currently eligible for a $2,000 hiring bonus This will be paid out following 3 months of continuous employment.

This position is not confined to shop activities as the Mechanic may be required to perform field work on down buses.

Ongoing maintenance / repair of busesDiagnose equipment problemsCVIP InspectionsPreventive Maintenance (PM) InspectionsRespond to road call breakdownsComplete all documentation associated with equipment repairsWork with shop management to maintain schedules and prioritiesFollow SOUTHLAND procedures and guidelinesMaintain a clean and orderly work environment RequirementsJourneyperson Mechanic ticket (Heavy Duty or Automotive)2 – 5 years related experienceSchool bus and diesel repair experience considered an assetEngine repair experience desiredValid class 5 driver's licence (class 2 or 3 considered an asset)CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License considered an assetOwn hand toolsFluent in written and spoken EnglishAbility to comprehend/operate diagnostic and manual measuring toolsAnalytical and troubleshooting skillsComputer proficiencyWillingness to mentor ApprenticesAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at once RemunerationCommensurate with experienceBi-weekly pay period (every second Friday)Employee Benefits Plan (after 3 month probation)Group Registered Retirement Savings (RRSP) Plan (available after 12 months)Annual Tool and Boot Allowance (pro-rated from start date - available in last quarter of the year, and each subsequent year) #ZRHP Job ID:
