What we are looking for:

The Client Portfolio Manager acts as an extension of, and a proxy for, the Fiera Active & Strategic Fixed Income investment team. This key hire is responsible for independently driving new sales and client retention by working closely with the sales teams. The candidate will demonstrate subject matter expertise and articulate the respective investment philosophies and processes associated with our investment capabilities during prospect meetings, finals presentations, consultant meetings and client portfolio reviews. This key professional also drives the development of research, analysis, competitive intelligence and thought leadership.

Your responsibilities:

Key functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Drive new sales and client retention effectively for the ASFI investment strategies :
    • Execute business development plan co-developed with senior ASFI team members.
    • Take the lead on all customer service activities (KYC) in close collaboration with the various IPMs assigned to ASFI customers.
    • Engage in client / consultant meetings (current and new), in collaboration with the sales team and ASFI team members.
    • More generally, participate in the evolution of ASFI in the realization of its short- and long-term strategic plan, for the benefit of its members, customers and the entire Fiera Capital organization.
  • Monitor ASFI investment solutions through recurring internal/external communications :
    • Produce and update all tools, documents, and databases essential to the smooth operation of the ASFI team's business development and customer service activities.
    • Explain ASFI's investment strategies, at a level similar to that of a PM, while keeping an eye on industry trends and potential implications for our service offering.
    • Collaborate daily with other Fiera Capital teams to educate, inform, clarify and coordinate business development and customer service efforts.
  • Other responsibilities include :
    • Oversee the RFP process and client communications from a team perspective, including database management and preliminary answers, minimizing Portfolio Manager involvement.
    • Coordinate roadshow logistics.
    • Administer consultant and client questionnaires and requests.

Must have requirements to be successful in this role :

  • 10+ years of recent, relevant experience in a portfolio specialist, client portfolio manager, investment strategist or similar role; prior portfolio management or investment analyst experience is ideal.
  • Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree, especially MBA or MS in Finance or Investments preferred.
  • A quantitative academic or professional background would be an asset.
  • ASA and/or CFA Charter holder as well as a Series 7 & 63 strongly desired
  • In-depth knowledge of the characteristics associated with fixed-income securities/portfolios and their impact in different potential economic environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of the characteristics and analysis of alternative classes and/or non-public fixed-income securities that form part of our service offering is also an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to credibly articulate the process, value, and fit of the Fiera strategies across multiple distribution channels and audiences of varying levels of investment sophistication.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented culture.
  • Exceptional problem solving, organization and time management skills.
  • High sense of urgency and degree of initiative and self-motivation
  • Results-orientation with a high degree of professional and corporate responsibility

  • Fiera Capital adheres to a hybrid working environment with 3 days in-office per week
