About the Position:

We are looking for a Registered Nurse specialized in Oncology:

  • Prioritizes tasks, provides expert clinical guidance for care plans, implements health treatments, and delegates responsibilities to other healthcare team members when needed.
  • Ensures active involvement of clients/families in care plan development, setting goals, and making necessary adjustments.
  • Builds a therapeutic rapport using effective communication and interviewing techniques, respecting client decisions and involving them in care planning.
  • Coordinates referrals with clients/families and healthcare team, facilitating appropriate referrals to health/community agencies.
  • Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, participating in patient care conferences to ensure consistent and comprehensive care delivery.
This is an opportunity for CASUAL EMPLOYMENT. Casual positions offer flexible hours with no guaranteed shifts and the possibility of short-notice assignments. Casual staff can apply for permanent or temporary positions internally. Many employees at Interior Health start as casual staff and transition to regular roles.

Shifts may include both day and night schedules, rotating between 08:00 to 16:00 and 09:00 to 14:00.

About the Location/Unit:
Shuswap Lake General Hospital in Salmon Arm is a 43-bed Level 2 Community Hospital situated between Kamloops and Revelstoke. The hospital provides surgical, inpatient, obstetrics, and 24-hour emergency services.
