We are hiring for a Full-time Payroll & HR Administrator for our manufacturing facility in Newmarket, ON. This position is full-time onsite.

Payroll Duties
Full cycle payroll for 140 plus hourly and salaried staff on a bi-weekly basis.

  • Monitor daily timesheet transactions and maintaining departmental timesheet schedules.
  • Preparing payroll journals to upload to the ERP system.
  • Process employee Record of Employment (ROE) to Service Canada on a timely manner
  • Preparing and submitting EHT, WSIB reconciliation and all other yearend reporting
  • Reconciling & remitting various benefits and thirdparty payments.
  • Reconcile any PIER discrepancies during the payroll year.
  • Updating employee records in Payroll/HR system
  • Responding to general payroll inquiries from employees while always maintaining confidentiality
  • Other payroll projects and analysis as required.

Human Resources Administration

  • Preparation of various HR documents
  • Assist in recruiting processes
  • Providing weekly attendance to temp agencies, daily administration of temp employees
  • Onboarding/Offboarding administration: Arranging equipment/supplies for new employees, arranging for training, updating directories, HR forms
  • Maintaining/updating employee handbooks
  • WSIB administration: Filing forms, Maintain/updating WSIB Clearance Certificates, prepare various documents, return to work plans, letters, etc.
  • Health and

Safety Administration:
Maintaining training records, preparing various docs

  • Assist in benefits administration: General administrative duties, ad hoc reporting and special projects as required.

Prerequisites

  • Minimum of two years payroll experience
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • College Diploma in Business
  • Canadian Payroll Association designation an asset
  • Strong multitasking skills; able to prioritize workload.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbal and written with all levels of staff.
  • Good team player
  • Willingness to take on new projects and assignments.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and approach situations in a diplomatic and professional manner.
