SUMMARY


The position is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of digital and internal communication strategies and initiatives to increase awareness of BCFSA's mandate and role.


ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develops and implements digital and social media strategies and messaging to enhance engagement, support organizational and communications objectives, and amplify the voice of BCFSA as the regulator of the financial services sector in B.C.
  • Leads digital communication strategies and initiatives, and the implementation of all staff events to support the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Leads digital components of communications projects and strategic initiatives to increase awareness of the organization's mandate and role.
  • Leads and manages the BCFSA brand and corporate identity standards and identifies issues and makes improvements to digital communications strategy and processes.
  • Leads the development and design of internal and external communications materials for publication through digital channels.
  • Implements proactive and creative approaches to digital media and new technologies; identifies opportunities to improve engagement with internal, web, and social media audiences.
  • Leads the development and implementation of the team's work practices (e.g., operational plans, policies, procedures, and reports). to support reliable program accountability, organizational core values and mandate.
  • Leads the development of operational policies and procedures, performance standards and service levels with the goal of continuous improvement.
  • Develops and maintains constructive and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of digital communication strategies and initiatives.
  • Provides supervision, coaching and mentorship to allow team members to achieve their full potential.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Communications, Digital Communications, Marketing or Journalism with considerable communications related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five or more years' experience developing and implementing digital communication strategies and projects to enhance an organization's brand, including social media, multimedia, and web.
  • Experience supervising and coaching employees.
  • Expert knowledge of communications design principles and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of brand development and design.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent judgement and analytical skills.
  • Proficient with design and layout software and tools
