Position Job Title :
Director, Business Development and Industry Relationships Location : University Canada West (UCW) - Hybrid

Reports to :
Vice President, Strategic Development

The Director of Business Development and Industry Relationships spearheads UCW's Business Development and Industry engagement initiatives, cultivating industry partnerships and expanding business opportunities.

This role combines domestic recruitment knowledge with extensive business development expertise to enhance UCW's market presence and educational partnerships with local industry and community.

Cultivates collaborative working relationships with senior members of other University Canada West and the UCW community whose activities focus on efforts to expand UCW's presence in the educational and business sectors, ensuring alignment with industry trends and enhancing the university's market influence.


Marketing and Outreach:
Direct marketing efforts to promote UCW's capabilities to potential partners, industry leaders and resonate with potential local domestic students

Business Development Strategy:
Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with UCW's overall goals. Identify new market opportunities and lead initiatives to expand UCW's domestic student numbers, educational services, and products.

Business Intelligence and Market Analysis : Use data analytics to inform decision-making and strategy adjustments in business development, industry.

Negotiate partnerships and contracts that align with UCW's strategic goals.
Facilitate the integration of professional standards and practices into academic programs to improve employability and educational relevance.
Oversee the operational aspects of the domestic recruitment and business development teams, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
Other ad hoc responsibilities in line with the priorities of the organization and executive team.

Required :

Master's degree with a minimum of 10 years of related experience in domestic recruitment and business development in an educational context.


Preferred :
PhD in a related field, experience in education administration and familiarity with global education and business trends.

Proven ability to negotiate and manage complex partnerships and contracts.
Depth of experience in undergraduate and/or graduate domestic student recruitment and student experience at a university.

Experience working with secondary school students, their counsellors, and families; extensive knowledge of international secondary educational systems and international curricula.

Demonstrated ability to mentor and motivate senior staff. Proven human resource management skills and a clear leadership vision.

Ability to exercise diplomacy and discretion and to work effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and senior university administrators, as well as with members of international organizations, universities, and other schools.

Proven ability to carry out strategic planning, with strong organizational ability and the level of attention to detail needed to effectively implement strategies.
