Job Summary:
This senior leadership role is key for Central 1 and reflects the growth and forward-looking nature of the organization.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer ("CFO"), the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (aka: "VP, FP&A") will serve as a key member of the financial leadership team; with responsibility for building and automating the systems and processes needed to deliver value-added business analysis, information and reporting to enable insightful, and informed decision-making.

This role will be responsible for "telling the C1 story" from a financial perspective.

  • Sharing responsibility for leadership and oversight of all finance operations
  • Driving the achievement of strategic objectives for the finance function
  • Developing talent across Finance through a coaching leadership style
  • Creating an environment that empowers team members and enables them to realize their full potential and value
  • Demonstrating leadership behaviours aligned with Central 1's core values
  • Forging strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide confidence in Finance's internal controls and deliver financial data ith unquestionable integrity
  • Providing strategic thought and guidance to business planning, forecasting and analysis.
  • Ensuring that the finance function is seen as a "partner with the business", acting in a proactive, responsive and insightful manner to support improved business decisions and results.
  • Partnering closely with the CFO for all aspects of the annual budgeting process, including preparation of reports and analysis for Executive and Board Committees.
  • Developing and delivering the organization's financial management and/or control systems, leading the optimization and improvements of key processes, frameworks and systems for pique performance.
  • Leads the capital management function for Central 1, which includes developing strategies to deploy capital effectively.
  • Developing a clear understanding of the future of Central 1 from both a strategic and operational perspective. Ensuring that the FP&A function and its priorities are focused on the key strategic imperatives of Central 1 understanding that the industry is being, and will continue to be technologically disrupted.
  • Monitoring and evaluating information from internal data, financial reports and other key performance indicators to provide relevant, proactive information to the executive leadership and appropriate stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Developing a culture of process and continuous improvement to ensure that the finance function is current with the needs of the organization, and is role model in embracing change and demonstrating adaptability.
  • Fostering and driving a culture of high performance, ensuring the finance team receives clear direction, career development, and performance management objectives based on clearly identified responsibilities and performance objectives.

What you'll have:

  • A reputation for being a successful, wellrespected senior accounting/finance professional, with substantial experience with FP&A, technology implementation or optimization and M&A.
  • Must have worked in an organization similar in size and complexity to Central 1. Experience working in a financial institution would be beneficial.
  • Experience assessing, using and implementing bestinclass systems, processes and technology.
  • Balances strong business acumen with deep analytical skills; possesses expertise in financial analysis/management, reporting budgeting and forecasting.
  • Has supported acquisition/divestitures on multiple deals.
  • Experience in treasury specifically; balance sheet strategy, capital management, funds transfer, pricing, cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
  • Knowledge about payments, transfers and settlements, and how digital technologies are impacting traditional service offering in this space will be advantageous.
