A career within the Global Funding and Treasury Financial Markets team means working in a dynamic environment that allows you to excel while creating strong collaborative ties across all sectors of the National Bank and Financial Markets family.


As a Governance Investment Associate, you see to the development of a governance framework for the activities carried out by the Global Funding and Treasury team, you ensure consistency and ethical management and see to the implementation of mechanisms to effectively mitigate operational, reputational and money laundering risks.

You also act as a " Gatekeeper " and ensure a critical view of the business.

Your role:

  • Analyze and monitor the transaction activities of the Global Funding and Treasury teams with a holistic view (reputational risk, controversies, compliance, ESG, AML)
  • Design and produce reports and analysis by asset class based on our business strategy and risk appetit
  • Identify key risk factors and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Ensure Sector monitoring of investments, ESG risks and regulatory trends, issues, and developments
  • Evaluate the impact and implementation of new products. Make appropriate recommendation
  • Assist teams assessing operational and reputational risks and implement appropriate monitoring, and develop more robust, structured, and integrated analytical tools
  • Work in partnership with compliance and create a common platform to ensure consistency in our investment activities.


Reporting to the Head & Managing Director, Governance Treasury & Pension Fund, your main function will be to develop an investment governance framework affecting the activities of the Asset Liability Management (ALM), Credit Investments and Private Equity teams for both Bank and Pension Fund assets.


Our team prudently ensures the financing of the Bank and optimally manages its market positioning and the Bank's investments, thereby supporting the organization's organic and strategic growth.

Competencies required:

  • Bachelor's degree related to our sectors of activity and 35 years of relevant work experience or a master's degree in an appropriate field
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in investment governance framework development and oversight of various investment asset classes or equivalent
  • Ability to conduct assessments and identify key risk factors
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint
  • Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will work closely with colleagues outside Quebec
