ABOUT THE TEAM


The Valuation Governance team's mandate is to hold organizational accountability over the private investments' valuation process, playing a key role in the final valuation recommendation.


More specifically, the team reviews the valuations of all private investments (infrastructure, real estate, private equity, natural resources, private debt).

The team is also responsible for maintaining "best practices" and good governance in private asset valuations.

The Intern will assist in the review of valuations of private. He/she will participate in preparing the documentation that is needed to be submitted to the valuation committees. Overall, he/she will work with all private investment groups, the Investment Finance team and the Taxation group.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE

As an Intern, Valuation Governance, you'll:

  • Support members of the Valuation Governance team with the planning and execution of the quarterly valuation process
  • Participate in the development and/or validation of financial models related to investments and analyze the impact of different assumptions on the valuation
  • Update and analyze comparable company multiples and metrics
  • Participate in the analysis of industry trends and help monitor market events and analyze the impact that these events may have on investment valuations
  • Assist with the preparation of summary memorandum
  • Perform any other duties, as required


WHAT YOU'LL NEED- Enrolled in a Bachelor of Commerce, with a focus in Finance or Accounting- Pursuit of professional designations (CFA, CBV, CPA, CA), an asset- Superior level of proficiency with business software and analytical tools- Demonstrated initiative and curiosity to look beyond surface facts and conduct comprehensive, fact-based, value-added research- Attention to detail and rigorous approach to research, analysis and documentation- Ability to work collaboratively, cultivating meaningful relationships with colleagues- Must return to studies after the internship or the internship must be part of your curriculum- Proficiency in English and French (or willingness to learn) (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)- Options include Canadian citizenship, permanent residency or a valid open work permit.

This position is located at our Montreal offices.
