What you'll do

As the Associate Vice President, Enterprise Architecture, you will play a critical role in defining and implementing the strategic technology direction for our organization. You will be responsible for overseeing the design and alignment of our enterprise architecture with business objectives, ensuring that our technology solutions support our long-term goals. In this leadership position, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to drive innovation, optimize existing systems, and enable digital transformation initiatives.
  • Develop and implement enterprise architecture strategies: Define and communicate the enterprise architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives. Develop guidelines and frameworks to guide technology decisions across the organization.
  • Collaborate with business units: Work closely with senior executives, business unit leaders, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable enterprise architecture requirements. Foster strong relationships to promote collaboration and gain support for architectural initiatives.
  • Drive innovation and digital transformation: Identify emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to drive innovation within the organization. Evaluate the feasibility of adopting new technologies or modifying existing systems to improve efficiency, enhance customer experience, and enable digital transformation.
  • Lead architecture governance: Establish and enforce architectural standards, policies, processes, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across projects. Provide guidance on architectural decisions, review project designs, and assess their adherence to established standards.
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives: Collaborate across IT to ensure alignment between different architectural domains. Facilitate cross-functional discussions to resolve conflicts and promote collaboration.
  • Perform technology assessments: Conduct evaluations of existing systems and technologies to identify areas for improvement or optimization. Make recommendations for modernization or replacement of legacy systems to enhance efficiency and reduce technical debt.
  • Stay updated on industry trends: Continuously monitor technological advancements, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and competitive landscape related to enterprise architecture. Leverage this knowledge to provide insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
What you bring
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in enterprise architecture roles or similar positions.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in aligning business objectives with technology strategies.
  • Solid understanding of emerging technologies (e.g., cloud computing, AI/ML) and their impact on enterprise architecture.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in driving digital transformation initiatives is highly desirable.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF Certified) are a plus.
  • Creative and courageous, with the ability to manage in an environment of change and ambiguity to help us take bold, strategic moves in this rapidly evolving retail environment.
  • Outcome focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyze and visualize target state, to ensure continuous improvement across our entire business.
