Position Summary

This role involves offering specialized knowledge to recognize and address safety, reliability, maintainability, or operational concerns related to rotating equipment. The primary goal is to ensure the secure, dependable, and efficient operation of Sherritt's rotating equipment assets.



Accountabilities

  • Comply with reliability engineering standards such as ISO5500x and ISO14224, ensuring adherence to regulatory protocols.
  • Cultivate effective communication and collaboration with essential departments and plant personnel.
  • Execute Asset Integrity-Reliability procedures to facilitate dependable, cost-efficient production.
  • Encourage ongoing enhancement, technical creativity, and streamlined thought processes.
  • Recognize and address risks to rotating equipment, devise solutions, and aid in their implementation.
  • Offer suggestions for equipment performance to support troubleshooting, preventive measures, and predictive maintenance.
  • Analyze CBM data to pinpoint damage factors for inspections and repairs.
  • Resolve issues with rotating equipment by conducting root cause analyses and facilitating Root Cause Failure Analysis.
  • Oversee or contribute to health monitoring initiatives and refine maintenance approaches to minimize lifecycle expenses and operational halts.
  • Provide technical assurance for supervisory roles and take part in rotating equipment-related shutdowns.
  • Undertake integrity and quality assurance responsibilities for equipment maintenance.
  • Establish and revise guidelines for the installation of rotating equipment (API-686).
  • Carry out evaluations, data gathering, analysis, ITP creation, work requests, repair plans, and reporting activities.
  • Support engineering, operations, and maintenance teams on rotating equipment health and remedial strategies.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior Rotating Equipment Specialists.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering or possess a Mechanical Engineering Diploma alongside Vibration Analysis certifications.
  • Accumulate at least 5 years of relevant experience dealing with rotating equipment and reliability methodologies.
  • Possess strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, CMMS, and adept problem-solving capabilities.
