will possess:

  • A Diploma or Degree related to Facilities Management or equivalent in training and experience
  • Successful experience leading and managing in a unionized environment and proven organizational abilities for project planning, estimating and scheduling work
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industrial cleaning supplies, tools and protective equipment required to complete work safely (e.g. WHMIS) is an asset
  • Thorough knowledge and expertise in the areas of facilities management and custodial services as evidenced by at least 3 – 5 years experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the BC Building Code and WSBC legislation and requirements
  • Proven leadership skills and a team approach to managing
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and people management skills
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Ability to build a positive and progressive workplace culture
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form and positively and work as a team
  • Demonstrated computer literacy using Microsoft office or other computer applications related to the position
  • Ability to work independently and with confidentiality
  • Strong coaching, facilitation, training and communication skills; as well as a high degree of discretion when dealing with sensitive information
  • A high level of integrity and superior work ethic
  • A commitment to the District, students and staff
