Job Description:

  • The Brookfield Private Equity Group (BPEG) is one of Brookfield Asset Management's primary operating platforms. The Private Equity Group operates and manages over $116 billion of assets owned through its listed and unlisted investment vehicles. Our portfolio is comprised of longlife, high quality infrastructure assets with high barriers to entry that generate stable and growing cash flows.
  • Summary:
  • In addition, this role will provide assistance with various other support roles within the private funds and financial planning and reporting teams. This position offers an opportunity for growth within the Private Equity team and wider Brookfield Asset Management group.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for assisting with the quarterly and annual valuation process for all private equity assets, including compilation of a quarterly valuation deck and presentation to senior management;-
  • Liaising with investment teams to understand key business drivers for over [30] private equity investments and ensuring relevant assumptions are captured in models;-
  • Interacting with investment professionals to understand market-based comparable transactions;-
  • Working across multiple finance functions and regions to ensure alignment of information and reporting;-
  • Maintaining, and updateing standard valuation templates and process documentation as required;-
  • Responsible for internal controls associated with the valuation process;-
  • Assisting with the audit of valuations, including annual external audits and internal audits;.-
  • Co-ordinatinge and working with external valuation consultants, as required;-
  • Supporting investor relations with investor questions queries related to vValuations;-
  • Assisting with performance reporting metrics for portfolio investment;s-
  • Ad-hoc financial analyses to support decision making;-
  • Special projects, as assigned
  • Skills & Qualifications:
  • CA or CPA designation with a background in public company accounting/auditing, with at least 57 years of progressive work experience in accounting/finance functions;
  • CFA or CBV designation would be considered a great asset with at least 3 years of practical valuation experience;
  • Proven ability to interpret and review complex discounted cash flow financial models;
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative;
  • Highly analytical with great attention to detail;
  • Exemplifies the right motivation by aspiring to achieve collective goals;
  • Collaborate across all levels while respectful to opinions;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel;
  • Exceptional quality standards and an ongoing desire to push for new approaches, insights and presentation methods;
  • Penchant for seeking out new experiences, knowledge and candid feedback;
  • Selfmotivated and proactive, with respect to both managing workload and professional development;
