WHAT YOU'LL DO:


As an integral member of (Professional Practice) the Register Dietitian (RD) assesses, plans implement, evaluates and consults with patients, their significant others and health care workers to ensure that patients receive appropriate and optimal nutritional care to improve nutritional and health status.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
  • Membership with Dietitians of Canada preferred
  • At minimum, two years' practical and related experience in a hospital environment including experience in adult nutrition support (TPN and enteral nutrition)
  • Minimum 1year practical hospital related experience in paediatric and infant nutrition including nutrition support (TPN and enteral nutrition)
  • Experience in a related specialty (paediatrics, intensive care, NICU) an asset
  • Experience as a preceptor an asset
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize and deal with changes in tasks with short notice
  • Ability to function independently
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent problemsolving skills, critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft office, EPIC software
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education

  • Excellent assessment, planning and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of the principles teaching for children/families
  • Knowledge of the principles of adult learning
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate both individual and group educational sessions using the principles of education

  • Ability to work independently and use initiative and good judgement when performing duties

  • Membership in Diabetes Education Section of Canadian Diabetes Association preferred
