TandemLaunch is a unique Montreal based start-up foundry and venture capital fund. We create cutting-edge technology companies based on research taken straight from major university labs. We focus on commercializing innovations in consumer electronics, hardware-enabled technologies, and artificial intelligence.
**What we are looking for**:
We are looking for a Venture Capital Principal to join TandemLaunch team, reporting to our Managing Partners. The Principal will work directly with TandemLaunch Partners and with the CEOs and founders of TandemLaunch portfolio companies, assisting all tasks related to fundraising and de-risking the financing exercise. The Principal will play a key role in deal flow evaluation and development, and in expanding TandemLaunch investment partners network.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Supporting TandemLaunch portfolio companies in the development of curated investors funnels, providing introductions and connections
- Assisting the CEOs of TandemLaunch portfolio companies in securing non dilutive funding, by offering guidance and support in navigating the available programs
- Supporting the Managing Partners in the execution of the financing deals
- Contributing to the expansion of TandemLaunch's network of investors and investment partners
- Reviewing pitch decks and pitching new venture ideas externally
**You should have**:
- 4+ years of experience in early stage venture capital investing (Seed or Series A investments)
- Excellent understanding of term-sheets, cap tables and financing rounds
- Good knowledge of federal and provincial non-dilutive financing programs
- Good communication skills - written and verbal - in French
- A strong affinity for technology and for technology startups
- Sound professional judgement
- An entrepreneurial and self starter mindset, a hustling approach, a high level of autonomy and of ownership

**Ce que nous recherchons**:
Nous recherchons un Directeur principal aux investissements pour rejoindre l'équipe de TandemLaunch, en rapport avec nos partenaires. Le directeur principal travaillera directement avec les partenaires de TandemLaunch et avec les PDG et les fondateurs des entreprises du portefeuille de TandemLaunch, en aidant toutes les tâches liées à la levée de fonds et à la réduction du risque dans l'exercice de financement. Le principal jouera un rôle clé dans l'évaluation et le développement du flux d'affaires et dans l'expansion du réseau de partenaires d'investissement de TandemLaunch.
**Vos responsabilités incluront**:
- Soutenir les sociétés du portefeuille TandemLaunch dans le développement et la sélection du réseau d'investisseurs, en offrant des introductions et des connexions
- Aider les PDG des sociétés du portefeuille TandemLaunch à obtenir des financements non dilutifs, en les conseillant et soutenant dans la sélection des programmes les plus appropriés
- Soutenir les partenaires de TandemLaunch dans l'exécution des opérations de financement
- Contribuer à l'expansion du réseau d'investisseurs et de partenaires d'investissement de TandemLaunch
- Examiner les pitch decks et présenter de nouvelles idées d'entreprise à l'externe
**Vous devriez avoir**:
- 4 ans ou plus d'expérience dans l'investissement en capital-risque en démarrage (investissements d'amorçage ou de série A)
- Une excellente compréhension des term-sheets, des tableaux de capitalisation et des tours de financement
- Une bonne connaissance des programmes de financement non dilutif fédéraux et provinciaux
- De bonnes compétences en communication - écrite et verbale - en français
- Une forte affinité pour la technologie et pour les startups technologiques
- Un judgement professionnel solide
- Une attitude entrepreneuriale et autonome, une approche d'effort, un haut niveau d'autonomie et la capacité d'être en charge d'un projet
