As a GIS Specialist, you will assist the Geospatial Business Solutions area in providing leadership of the corporation's enterprise geographic information system. Primary duties include: In coordination with the Capital team, support capital project work in partnership with other GBS sections, City Business Units, and external partners to complete tasks and project items. Provide expertise and technical solutions related to GIS Lifecycle work, emerging technology and data evaluations, and advancement of the 3D environment for the city. Develop standards, best practices and other documentation in relation to the project(s). Design and develop GIS data and technology solutions, methods, and processes for the distribution and implementation of GIS technology and data. Participate in requirements and design of geographic data best practices, standards, and procedures to develop, implement, and support information architecture(s). Troubleshoot and investigate GIS technology and data issues. This includes gathering information, conducting problem analysis and interpretation, solution development, and implementing and authorizing client access to GIS software and/or databases. Promote the understanding of geographic information science, methods, technologies and data across The City. Qualifications A completed 2 year diploma in a GIS related field and at least 5 years of related experience; OR A degree in GIS, Planning, Engineering, Geomatics, Computer Science or a related field and at least 3 years of related experience. Highly proficient with the ESRI ArcGIS technology suite including: Experience Builder, ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ESRI Field Mobility tools, WebApp Builder, ModelBuilder. Proficiency with Python, Arcade and Feature Manipulation Engine (FME). Proficient in developing technical and functional requirements through business needs assessments and current state analyses. Experience with Oracle and SQL databases, geodatabase design will be considered assets. Experience in working with 3D datasets and/or Internet of Things (IoT) data is an asset. Success in this position requires excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
