The Opportunity

TC Energy is seeking a detail-orientated and self-driven Pipeline Integrity (PI) Application Specialist to be the subject matter expert and product lead on a variety of complex engineering tools and applications that support the Pipe Integrity program. In this role, you will be in the PI Tools, Technology, and R&D team and serve as the voice of the customer, ensuring that the applications assigned to your portfolio continue to meet the evolving needs of the organization, and align with strategic roadmaps.

The PI Tools, Technology, and R&D team is an innovative and highly collaborative group responsible for managing, maturing, and optimizing a wide range of applications for both Pipe Integrity and GIS. The team works closely with partners in Information Services (IS), functional business groups, and external vendors to identify, advocate for, and implement fit-for-purpose tool and process solutions. These solutions are designed to enable our stakeholders with improved program efficiencies, governance, and regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do

With the leadership of the Pipe Integrity Tools, Technology, and R&D Manager and support from the functional lead, you will work with the team to:

  • Lead the product development lifecycle for new application features and enhancements from ideation to implementation.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings to gather comprehensive business requirements for new features or enhancements.
  • Work closely with development teams to provide business context, validate requirements, and ensure the technical implementation aligns with the desired user experience and business objectives.
  • Prioritize, refine, and manage the backlog of new feature and enhancement requests from stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business priorities and strategic objectives.
  • Establish detailed annual project plans that balance a variety of priorities and constraints from regulatory compliance, resources, and strategic roadmaps.
  • Triage and manage daily requests from the business, external vendors, and IS.
  • Proactively communicate updates, issues, and expectations to internal and external stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Create and maintain tool-specific reports that provide usage analytics, process optimization insights, and other data-driven intelligence for the PI applications.
  • Write and sustain user-facing documents that support training, announcements, and frequent questions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience, preferably in the energy/utilities industry
  • Strong understanding of application development and project management methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively bridge business and technical teams.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting using tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • Demonstrated alignment with TC Energy's values of Safety, Innovation, Responsibility, Collaboration, and Integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to distill complex issues and quickly determine resolutions that fit the business needs.
  • Experienced with SQL Server databases, ATP PiMSlider, GIS analysis, and/or other Pipe Integrity applications.
  • Knowledge of Inline Inspection data and analysis would be considered an asset.

To remain competitive, support our high-performance culture and allow for more flexibility in the way we work, we offer a hybrid work model and flexible dress code for our eligible office-based workforce in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. #LI-Hybrid
