You'll invest the majority of your time in these key areas:

  • Supervise hourly team of Packaging & Processing QA Lab staff
  • Lead employee scheduling and payroll edits, issue employee discipline as required
  • Deliver a wellrounded training experience to new Processing technicians and follow up training as required
  • Contribute to First Time Quality and Lean initiatives to best serve our clients

Specifically, you will:

  • Contribute to the evolution of the programs directly relating to Global Food Safety Initiatives (GFSI) certification, HACCP and Food Safety culture, Internal Audit Program
  • Liaise and collaborate in a cross functional team between all departments to bridge the functions of each group as it relates to Quality Control
  • Chair the Food Safety Committee determine audit schedule, host monthly meetings, and follow up as needed
  • Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager, conduct document review and consolidation for Operations (Processing & Packaging)
  • Review of daily processing records, review labeling, grades, food safety, food quality and customer requirements and release product per specification during the production season
  • Coordinate and issue the Internal Audit Program, follow up as needed
  • Be accountable for compliance with established HACCP, Food Safety, and GMP protocols
  • Be accountable for the health and safety of employees under your supervision; responsible for ensuring that buildings, machinery and equipment are safe and that employees work in compliance with legislation and established safe work practice and procedures
  • Contribute to inventory control and product dispositions of bulk and case product


You will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and join a team that ensures the safety and good quality of our vegetable products through compliance with industry standards and best practices.


You will bring the following to the business:

  • Post-secondary education in Food Production, Laboratory, or Science background
  • 2 or more years of supervisory experience
  • Able to work independently, use judgment, learn new skills quickly, and adapt to changes in schedules
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated mathematical ability
  • Understanding of GMPs, HACCP, and related legislation
  • Supervisory, project planning, and critical thinking skills
  • A forwardthinking, solutionsoriented mindset
  • A proactive, selfstarter approach with the ability to take initiatives and run with projects independently, working with discretion and under pressure as needed
  • A positive, energetic attitude and natural leadership qualities
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a fastpaced environment
