The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is an essential role in the daily flow of hotel operations; keeping the entire property clean and orderly.

Responsible for overseeing the entire housekeeping team, the individual in this leadership position has an incredible work ethic and impeccable standards.

Leads by providing a consistent example of excellent service and ensures that all cleaning efforts are completed efficiently, with a great attention to detail and guest satisfaction.

This individual actively participates in inventory management, supply budgeting and the development of Housekeeping systems and procedures. In collaboration with other members of the Pearle Hotel management team, the Housekeeping manager retains and develops new talent.

  • 3 years in a housekeeping supervisor or assistant manager role

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Inspect all assigned areas to ensure they are impeccably clean and in good repair to meet guest satisfaction
  • Act as a mentor to all housekeeping staff: embody a great service culture and create a high level of standards and excellence.
  • Manage daytoday housekeeping operations, daily decisionmaking, scheduling, and planning, all the while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.
  • Host housekeeping morning briefings in absence of Housekeeping Manager
  • Assist all Housekeeping Attendants in the daily checking of guest rooms and designated staff areas, laundry areas and public areas maintaining standards by Hotel policy
  • Responsible for the training of new staff
  • Check and maintain adequate level of supplies and material
  • Work with Front Office and Maintenance Departments regarding the status of rooms ensuring that guest requirements are met according to Hotel policy
  • Ensure the safe storage issue and effective use of cleaning materials and equipment as directed by manufactures on their Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Ensure the correct handling of lost guest property in accordance with Hotel procedures
  • Carry out Housekeeping Opening and Closing procedures
  • Be familiar with appropriate action to be taken in the event of an emergency
  • Monitor Health, Safety & Security standards within the department including training and compliance
  • Ensuring all guest comments and complaints are acted upon in accordance with Hotel policy
  • Schedule special projects, including seasonal cleaning of all guestrooms, spa, staff and all public areas
  • Maintain positive relationships within the team unit as well as with those outside of it, work together with others toward the common goal of success across the property
  • Adapt a handson approach to the daily operation covering cleaning duties with the team as and when required.
