What you'll do

  • We are the Distribution Lines Capital Portfolio within BC Hydro's Program and Contract Management group. We are
- responsible for delivering $200 million in distribution infrastructure maintenance and replacements every year and piloting
- new assets through Grid Modernization projects.

  • The Distribution Line Overhead team:
  • Replaces $100M annually; We replace end-of-life overhead poles, transformers, switches, reclosers, voltage
regulators and capacitors.- Performs field trials and pilots new assets ($5M) to modernize the distribution system

  • We work with stakeholders across the organization including Asset Management, Engineering, Standards, Field
Operations, Indigenous Relations, Customer Relations, and more to plan, build, and execute our work

  • Specific responsibilities include:
  • You will lead and manage the daytoday delivery of the work. You'll be responsible for progress monitoring, reporting,
forecasting, problem solving and escalation. You will manage a program portfolio with an annual capital budget of $10-20
- million, reporting to the Overhead Portfolio Team Lead. You will contribute to the success of this work, Program and

  • Contract Management, and BC Hydro.
  • How you'll do it
  • Plan, execute, and deliver a $520M annual capital budget.
  • Analyze and interpret complex financial data with strong analytical skills to drive strategic decisionmaking.
  • Engage collaboratively with crossfunctional teams, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute strategies to maximize efficiency and delivery of programs.
  • Communicate effectively (orally and in writing) to different levels within the organization to report on program
progress and escalate issues.- Foresee, assess, manage, and escalate program risks or roadblocks during execution.

  • Identify and implement innovative and efficient process improvements.

What you bring

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field. A combination of education and relevant
work experience will be considered.

  • Have at least 46 years of project or program management experience.
  • Proven experience managing $5M+ budgets.
  • Demonstrated understanding of project and program management principles, including various delivery models,
and contracting strategies.

  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills for effective communication and relationship building.
  • Have excellent organizational abilities for efficient task management.
  • Demonstrate management skills to lead crossfunctional teams and drive program success.
  • Possess advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is considered an asset.

  • Demonstrate strong financial acumen to compliment analytical capabilities.
  • Hold an understanding of electrical systems from generation to the end user, with a focus on distribution. This is
considered an asset but not a requirement.

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent is
considered an asset.
