DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. Stop work in the area of an identified health or safety problem until resolved.
  • Create and ensure Inspection and Test Plans (ITP's) are in compliance with project requirements.
  • Work closely with project teams to develop and implement the quality system to ensure thorough understanding of the scope and schedule.
  • Lead and coordinate all quality control team members, prepare work schedules, assign specific duties, and leading audits on subcontractor activities and implementing CARs and NCRs from audit findings in collaboration with Project Team.
  • Analyze operations to evaluate performance of a company and its staff including its subcontractors in meeting objectives, and to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change.
  • Ensure work is performed to established technical requirements defined by project documentation including drawings, specifications, procedures, inspection & test plans, and scope of work.
  • Recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality.
  • Uphold company culture and core values by adhering to Michels Canada's Standards and Policies and working with others to promote and preserve our values while conducting your duties to contribute to a positive and professional work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

:

  • Degree or diploma in a related field i.e. architectural, structural, construction or engineering technology.
  • 58 years' experience in heavy construction projects.
DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Firm knowledge of construction codes and standards CSA, ISO, ASME, API, AWWA and others in relation to the project.

LANGUAGES

  • Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English.
