The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the National Government of the Red River Métis - also known as the Manitoba Métis.

The Red River Métis are Canada's Negotiating Partners in Confederation and the Founders of the Province of Manitoba.


The Infinity Women Secretariat (IWS) is a proud affiliate of the MMF whose main purpose is to promote, empower and enhance the social, culture and economic well-being of Red River Métis Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQ+ Individuals.


The IWS seeks to fill
one full-time Community and Youth Outreach Coordinator position located at 150 Henry Ave in
Winnipeg, MB.

Reporting to the IWS Spokeswoman, the Community and Youth Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for working with IWS youth, engaging and empowering them within Red River Métis communities across Manitoba and beyond.


_ Job Duties/Competencies:
_

  • Support the growth and development of IWS programs, services, supports, and resources;
  • Aid in the development, implementation, and facilitation of various initiatives for multiple IWS projects;
  • Assist in planning, developing, and implementing youth programming (i.e., employment and training, education, leadership, genderbased violence awareness, Red River Métis culture, heritage, identity, recreation, etc.);
  • Assist in reviewing programs and activities, evaluation and research analysis as assigned;
  • Actively promote and develop partnerships to proactively address IWS youth members' needs;
  • Consult with Red River Métis Youth, IWS Board, MMF Departments, Affiliates, Regional Offices, communities, and partners on a regular basis to identify youth programing and service needs.

_ Skills and Qualifications:
_

  • Graduation from a recognized program in Program Coordination specializing in youth, community engagement and outreach, Communications, Business Administration, or relevant field;
  • Minimum of two years' experience in communications and youth outreach programming and initiatives;
  • Knowledge of youth engagement programming, consultations, and initiatives;
  • Experience in the development, facilitation and promotion of youth activities and workshops within the community;
  • Proficient in

Microsoft Office:
Word, Excel, OneDrive, PowerPoint, Outlook;

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills;
  • Knowledge of Red River Métis culture and MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,
  • Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.
