Job Description

The Consumer PR Coordinator plays a vital role in providing administrative and hands-on assistance for Consumer PR efforts across North America. This position involves close collaboration with various departments and sectors within the company, serving as a key asset in the implementation of all Consumer PR campaigns in North America. Possessing a solid understanding of the Canadian media landscape, news trends, editorial schedules, as well as fundamental knowledge of the US media scene, along with proficiency in media monitoring tools, meticulous attention to detail, and a knack for maintaining organized information, people, and processes, your positive mindset, coupled with robust project management and communication skills, align perfectly with the dynamic and energetic atmosphere where you'll be working.

About the Role:

  • Responsible for maintaining timelines, projects, and campaigns on schedule
  • Assist in budget management through handling invoices and purchase orders
  • Serve as a key contact for executing the PR strategy in North America, contributing to presentations, and incorporating PR aspects into Integrated Marketing plans locally and globally
  • Aid in organizing local PR/Marketing events, activations, and experiences
  • Identify, select, and manage relationships with media outlets in key North American markets
  • Support local marketing strategies including media relations, monitoring, and tracking media coverage
  • Provide administrative assistance for all PR-related activities
  • Collaborate with CA and US PR agency teams to fulfill media requests across North America
  • Work closely with internal and external PR teams to evaluate and suggest media relations/seeding targets, KPIs, etc.
  • Develop product and campaign pitches as required
  • Actively pitch and track coverage in the US and Canada as necessary
  • Review and offer feedback on PR agency media lists, pitch material, etc.
  • Support the Global PR team by weekly/monthly tracking and extracting metrics
  • Contribute to PR reports as needed
  • Contribute to weekly Marketing Leadership reports when necessary
  • Manage and ensure up-to-date coverage tracking for all campaign and Product Initiatives
  • Work closely with the Integrated Marketing coordinator to monitor and coordinate product orders and samples for North American media
  • Engage in team and department brainstorms and conduct market research as requested
  • Participate in regular PR status calls with the internal Global PR team and external PR agency teams
  • Coordinate messenger/courier services and handle all shipping on behalf of the North America marketing team

About You:

  • Experience with media monitoring platforms (Meltwater, Muckrack, TVEyes)
  • Thorough understanding of the Canadian / North American media landscape
  • Previous involvement in proactive/reactive media relations in Canada and the US
  • Experience in supporting, planning, and executing media events, previews, and experiences
  • Natural networker who collaborates effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, displaying a positive team spirit and approachable demeanor
  • Proficient communicator (oral and written) with outstanding listening skills
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Diligent about enhancing efficiency and driving business growth
  • Strong multitasking skills and a willingness to roll up sleeves and deliver results
  • Creative with a proven track record of thriving in fast-paced environments with frequent change
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
