What you'll do:


Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for updating, implementing, and coordinating the Safety Program and perform duties in accordance with the mission statement and policies/procedures of Clearview Consumers Co-op Ltd.


Some main duties of the job include:

  • Live our brand, "You're at Home Here" by presenting a positive, collaborative, and professional image of the organization to all customers, visitors, suppliers, and team members.
  • Exemplify our company values: _People, Integrity, Excellence, and Responsibility._
  • Coordinate and facilitate all related safety training and certifications.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents, and urgent issues as they arise.
  • Plan, design, develop, implement, and evaluate departmental occupational safety programs.
  • Manage all WCB claims and ReturntoWork programs.
  • Provide leadership in Health and Safety and ensure compliance with all legal and environmental requirements. Identify unhealthy or unsafe situations and ensure corrective action is taken.
  • Coaching and advising employees on matters relating to health and safety.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Asset Protection for employee related training and onboarding.

You are looking for a career in Retail Asset Protection & Safety and:

  • You have a minimum of 2 years relevant or related experience.
  • You have an Occupational Health and Safety Certificate and/or Commerce or Business Degree.
  • You have great organizational and time management skills.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • You have exceptional interpersonal skills in dealing with employees and customers.
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) considered an asset.
  • Certified Health & Safety Consultant (CHSC) considered an asset.
  • Retail experience is an asset.
