Senior Application Support Analyst - Join the team at a leading company
The Senior Application Support Analyst collaborates directly with end users, both internal to the GoA and external stakeholders, to troubleshoot technical issues, process requests, and support business teams.
To excel in this role, we are looking for someone with strong political acumen, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and extensive experience in stakeholder relations.
The ideal candidate can effectively prioritize and manage workload, make independent decisions, show self-motivation, and work autonomously.
- Receive and respond to inquiries regarding supported applications by the Help Desk team.
- Address escalated inquiries from the VIP team.
- Aid users in creating requests in BERNIE (ServiceNow) and provide necessary follow-up.
- Work with business teams on migrating SP2016 sites to SharePoint Online.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements for SharePoint solutions and enhancements.
- Manage SharePoint permissions, user access, and security settings.
- Inform inquirers about the resolution to their inquiry.
- Utilize Help Desk software to log calls for resolution or escalate pending inquiries.
- Communicate effectively with technical and/or business teams to resolve client issues.
- Monitor proposed solutions' progress and maintain client contact to provide status updates.
- Test end-user solutions, bug fixes, and new application features to ensure client satisfaction.
- Coordinate training sessions for external stakeholders and internal staff as needed.
- Maintain deep knowledge of applications for efficient support.
- Manage user IDs and passwords.
- Contribute to related projects as necessary.
- Develop and update documentation as required.
- Report application errors during call resolution and testing post-fix.
- Coordinate communication with external stakeholders, staff, and internal team members.
- Identify future training needs and provide regular status reports on reported issues.
Equipment Requirements:
- Resource must have their own computer and related equipment with a modern version of Windows or MacOS compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop and remote software. Windows is preferred for better compatibility.
If working remotely, the Contractor is responsible for all necessary equipment and supplies.
Working Hours:
- Standard work hours are 08:00 - 16:30 Alberta time, Monday to Friday, excluding observed holidays.
- Remote work within Canada is required for network and data security reasons.
- Although the role is primarily remote, onsite meetings may be needed occasionally, with travel expenses not covered by GoA.
Notes on Location:
Although primarily remote, the resource must make themselves available for onsite meetings when necessary, albeit infrequently.
Incumbency:
This is a newly created position. A standard background check is mandatory.
- Prior to commencing services, the Supplier must provide the Province with criminal record checks when requested.
An enhanced background check process is required, starting with a standard criminal record check.
- Further, an Enhanced Security Clearance will be necessary, managed by GoA exclusively.
Mandatory Training Courses:
- Upon hiring, completion of mandatory training is mandatory, including Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Security awareness training, with optional courses available.
