Here at the Den - we are a queer owned and queer & BIPOC operating practice dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive space for all to step into holistic healing and self-development.
Our Approach:
Holistic, human, inclusive, client centred, integrative and collaborative (inside of session and as colleagues).
We value a foundation in CBT for mindfulness and awareness, however we feel this is only the foundation of the work - deepening with an integrative approach bringing in techniques and modalities needed for the client > such as: somatic therapy, narrative therapy, DBT, creative therapies, feminist therapy and the Gottman method, etc.
Who we areFounded by Genieve Morison in 2017 with a dream to expand into a holistic wellness team and now seven years later, we have arrived.
The Therapeutic Team presently includes Genieve Morison and Christine Amuge since 2023.We are a highly supportive service with a variety of ways to step into the healing and growth, depending on the unique needs of the individual.
We operate from a holistic mindset and we are a safe and inclusive space, encouraging self-expression and authenticity.We are a collaborative team with creative opportunities to step into the work.
Services offeredIn-person, online, on-site business workshops - private sessions, relationship counselling and group work Ideal Counsellors Applicants are LGBTQ2S+ and or LGBTQ2S+ BIPOC, Registered counsellor or clinical counsellor with a holistic approach - Direct Client Contact experience requiredTrauma trainedCulture informedRequirements for hireAppropriate accreditationRegistration or licensing and liability insuranceCounsellors must be aligned with a supervisor Counsellors are responsible for continuing education and remaining in good standing with their regulatory bodies What you can expect for the interview process - this will be in two parts (two separate days) - Interview One - we will have a casual conversation to get to know each other to see if we vibe and there will be a skills demonstration.
Interview Two - will continue the conversation and finalize the team.-
