What YOU Will Do
Under the supervision of the Tunnel Works Manager and in close collaboration with the Project Managers responsible for the different project areas, the Night Engineer's primary mission will involve monitoring and coordinating repair work carried out in the tunnel, as well as validating completion of critical project phases. Specifically, the Night Engineer will be responsible for performing the following tasks.
Providing effective oversight of subcontracted work (weekly meetings; traceability of exchanges; compliance with Safety, Quality and Environment requirements).
Analyzing and addressing, in different implementation documents, interface constraints between trades.
Following up on work performed during the night shift, including demolition and concrete removal activities in areas with delaminated concrete, followed by formwork and concrete work in the areas identified.
Coordinating and supervising the activities of site engineers.
Conducting engineering work, including the validation of formworks, frameworks, temporary phases and decisions to reopen traffic lanes following a closure.
Performing monthly calculations of amounts committed/expenses incurred, processing relevant invoices and communicating these progress indicators along with subcontractors' calculations.
Ensuring proper implementation of the ITP (Inspection and Test Plan) for each task, including the performance of field checks and the application of internal controls.
Ensuring that work teams and subcontractors have the latest versions of the implementation and methods plans.
Ensuring application of the prevention principles set out in the project's overall Health and Safety Framework and the different implementation procedures.
Documenting and reporting environmental incidents, including spills. What YOU Will Bring
You have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction engineering.
You have a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience as a works engineer on road infrastructure construction or repair sites in Quebec.
You are a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec.
You are familiar with the MS Office suite.
