Powder Mixer

PURPOSE & SCOPE:
The Powder Mixer / Operator is responsible for mixing powder for production parts to specification.

All work must be done in a safe and efficient manner and comply with all Stackpole International's Health & Safety policies, procedures and quality systems.

Working knowledge with SPS, 5S and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities are required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the operation of mixers, screens and regrinders
• Understand and have working knowledge of the Powder Metal Process.
• Accurately weigh materials on a digital scale in accordance to work instructions for each product
• Required to do basic cleaning of dust collector
• Required to test blends to ensure accordance to specifications
• Completion of Compact Scrap/Regrind Tally Sheets on a daily basis
• Follow all safety regulations pertaining to proper use of chemicals. Must where all required protective safety equipment
• Ensure that the requirements of the Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety Systems are met.
• Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Education and/or Experience:_
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Postsecondary education in a related field is an asset
• Qualifications:_
• 35 year experience working within a manufacturing industry (preferably automotive) is required
• Basic computer skills knowledge, specifically Microsoft Office programs is required
• Demonstrated acceptable level of safety, attendance, quality and production
• Basic mathematical skills required with particular emphasis on accuracy
• Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to work well independently or in a team environment
• Ability to multitask in a fast pace environment while maintaining quality
• Must have a valid forklift/ lift truck license
• Language Skills:_
• Proficient in English (both spoken and written)
• Work Environment (including Physical Demands):_
• Work indoors. Environment can be noisy with variable temperatures (i.e. extreme heat)
• Lifting is required. No more than 50lbs and assistance is available if needed
• Work shifts may include days, afternoons, nights or continental
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods at a time
• Able to work overtime when required/requested
