Position Summary:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Require onsite inspection and testing with Project and ITM team
  • Verify that security hardware and software standards and operational requirements are met
  • Provide access control system verification to support the process
  • Identify any deficiencies and ensures accurate documentation as part of the process
  • Ensure all legislative and GTAA Security requirements are met prior to accepting on behalf of testing and commissioning
  • Manage the online process for temporary construction access through use of the access control, key system, or in coordination with Security Operations Control
  • Audit access records where applicable to ensure compliance to terms and conditions for access
  • As part of the Activation process complete associated documentation as it relates to security assets and ancillary support systems
  • Liaise with the Security Operations Control Planning & Support Officer to ensure there is a smooth transition to the monitoring system
  • Report any deficiencies not addressed by Testing and Commissioning
  • Lead all aspects of documentation related to the Activation process and handles electronically
  • Participate in the Information Sharing meeting providing a weekly update of anticipated activations
  • Liaise with Engineering Data to ensure current mapping is provided and online
  • Assess and process requests as received ensuring accurate documentation is attached
  • Address any issues where there is a lack of information, or the process is not followed
  • Review the status of the Security Impact Permit to identify potential expiring approvals on a proactive basis
  • Participates in maintaining documentation as it relates to security system assets including plans, protocols, and standards.
  • Supports the continuous review of the system operation and investigates outages in coordination with the security system maintainer
  • Participates in pilot projects testing new technologies, providing feedback, and coordinating with other users of the security systems
  • Coordinate activation of pilot projects and integrate with Security Operations Control

Qualifications:

  • Must possess 5 years' experience in airport security operations
  • Must possess 5 years' experience with security, access control and CCTV systems
  • Experience in interpreting and implementing legislation, regulations and security standards and policies
  • Experience in construction procedures and policies
  • Experience with interpreting construction plans and drawings
  • Able to acquire a D/A AVOP within a reasonable timeframe of acquiring the position
  • Valid Provincial Drivers License
  • Emergency First Aid/CPR Training
  • Prepared to consent to full preemployment screening procedures as required including, background, work history, driving history, and criminal records check
  • Able to acquire and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of GTAA and industry security systems, standards, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of GTAA layout, client and tenant operations, passenger, baggage and other traffic flows and activities.
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal direction
  • Requires in depth knowledge of security systems and the integration of multiple systems to support the operation
  • The ability to provide information, guidance, and advice with respect to interpreting legislation, policy, and standards during both normal operations and at enhanced security postures handling inquiries from internal and external sources
  • Ability to interpret security plans and procedures and communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
  • Ability to conduct inspections, assess findings and provide direction for the correction of deficiencies
  • Ability to compile, assess and analyze information and determine the required action
  • Ability to identify critical deficiencies in Corporate Safety and Security policies/procedures and draft/recommend amendments
  • Able to assess and implement efficiencies looking proactively to the future for opportunities in technology and infrastructure improvements
