VTT, a community Jewish day school serving a student body from ages 3 to 13, is currently recruiting a part-time Early Childhood Aide.

Qualifications:

  • Embraces the school's mission and values and is committed to delivering the highest quality Early Childhood Education program within a nurturing and stimulating Jewish environment.
  • They will subscribe to a playbased philosophy of learning and will support our goal to foster caring, creative and curious individuals incorporating Jewish values and practices.
  • Must be receptive to learning about Jewish customs and traditions and excited about working in a Jewish day school environment.
  • Ensure the care and education of young children in accordance with the goals of the Early Childhood Department and in compliance with Vancouver Coastal Health regulations.
  • Ensure licensing requirements are followed in the classroom and school.
  • Support the classroom teachers and students throughout the school day.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and welcoming environment, including but not limited to daily art supplies and dishes
  • Provide guidance and care of students in accordance with the philosophy of VTT's Early Childhood program.
  • Ensure ECEA and First Aid licenses are renewed in accordance with regulations.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the students while in their care.
- (When applicable) Spend time implementing indoor/outdoor activities.
- (When applicable) Responsible for supervising and helping students during lunch, ensuring Kashrut guidelines and and prayers are followed
- (When applicable) Responsible for helping children rest during nap time (Early Childhood Full Day or afternoon staff)
- (When applicable) Communicate with the Early Childhood Director on the progress of students.

  • Work in partnership with families.
- (When applicable) Prepare for and attend Parent/Teacher conferences.

  • Responsible for keeping the environment clean, neat and welcoming in order to ensure the growth and wellbeing of the students.
  • Attend regular Early Childhood staff meetings.
  • Participate in Professional Development sessions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a BC Early Childhood Educator Assistant certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate completion expected after hire
  • An Early Childhood Educator certificate is not required but an asset.
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is not required but an asset.
Expected start date is December 18, 2023.

Estimated hours of work is 8am - 12pm, Monday - Friday (hours may increase)
