The Role:

The Global Product Information team of Technical Writers and Instructional Designers is responsible for creating and publishing documentation and training deliverables for Dematic standard solutions, subsystems, and products. We're looking for an innovative, inspirational leader to help build and support our training and certification content development team.
As the Manager of the Training team, you will lead a team of instructional designers to design world-class online and in-person training deliverables, build best-in-class certification courses and assessments, and establish learning pathways that promote professional development and technical expertise for our global, internal and external audiences. You will support the instructional designers as they work with subject matter experts to identify their target audience's training needs and apply tested instructional design theories, practices, and methods that facilitate learners in acquiring knowledge, skills, and competencies in an effective and engaging manner.

What We Are Looking For:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of instructional designers who support Dematic products; motivate, empower, influence team members
  • Collaborate with the Certification Program manager to develop the instructional design workflow, establish strategies for providing exercises/activities that enhance learning, develop assessment instruments and determine success criteria.
  • Conduct needs analysis, gap analysis, and prioritize content creation activities in coordination with the software and mechanical documentation managers and the certification program manager.
  • Drive the short- and long-term multimedia strategy for training, incorporating audio, video, simulations, games, and more as appropriate.
  • Work with your individual team members to create professional development plans and opportunities for personal growth.
  • Support your team by understanding issues, assisting with mitigation plans, and removing obstacles.
  • Contribute to department initiatives such as tools implementation and other action plans designed to achieve department goals.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in a relevant field, such as Education and Technology, Instructional Design
  • Minimum 8 years' experience working with technical products (hardware or software)
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proven experience with designing or implementing training and/or certification programs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
  • Exceptional ability to work with cross-functional teams to build partnerships and get things done
  • Expert understanding of adult learning and instructional design principles
  • Experience in material handling systems or similar industry would be an asset
