Construction Safety Officer

Anthem CSO's are responsible for maintaining, monitoring and enforcing the project-specific safety program, as directed by the Safety Manager, Project Manager and Site Superintendent.
You will
Daily
- Administer first aid
- Conduct formal project site inspections
- Provide safety and environmental guidance and support to the Superintendent
- Guide, train and teach contractors about safety
- Execute Incident Reports
- Review and track toolbox minutes and Hazard Assessment forms
- Review Site Safety Inspection Reports and all safety equipment and material
- Complete Safety Orientations and new safe work procedures
- Review trade safety plans and WCB Alberta procedures
- Maintain COR requirements on site
- Uphold the highest standards of safety
Monthly
- Provide Project Statistics (Accident) Reports
- Prepare trend analysis and monthly reports
- Review Construction and Trade Safety Correspondence
- Maintain the Construction Health & Safety Manual
You have
- A CSO certification
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in safety, preferably in real estate construction
- Occupational First Aid Level 2 certification
- A great personality with strong organization and people skills
- A trade background (preferred)
- Confined space awareness (an asset)
- Knowledge of SiteDocs and Microsoft Office
- Exceptional understanding of Alberta OHSR and how it applies to the field
