Assistant Quality Assurance Person (AQAP)
Overview:
The AQAP will work cross-functionally with various departments within the licensed producer Operations, including Processing, Pick & Pack (distribution), and Inventory/Receiving, general regulatory compliance and licensing.
The AQAP will ensure the Company and its employees, vendors and partners remain compliant with all regulations and internal procedures and protocols.
The AQAP will oversee the completion and sign off record keeping and compliance reports related to many routine operations.The AQAP will also be responsible for performing a variety of administrative tasks, testing/sampling procedures on products, calibrating test equipment, amongst other day-to-day operational duties.
The AQAP has strong knowledge of cannabis processes and operational compliance and will work with the Compliance and Operations teams in developing and maintaining SOPs and other compliance records and systems.
The AQAP will work closely with the Head of Compliance, the Operations Manager and Head of Operations to ensure the regulatory considerations and processes are congruent with the operational/business needs of the Company and its clients.
The Employee will maintain a solutions-first approach at all times, and will employ excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
They must be able to work independently but also well with team members, troubleshoot and solve problems quickly, and be able to multitask throughout the day.
General:
Report directly to the Quality Assurance Person and working cross-functionally with other teams and interacting regularly with individual department heads to ensure that the Company's operational, business development, sales and marketing, and strategic priorities are aligned with the Employee's performance.
Be available to work onsite at the Company office and site/facility, and to travel to other places of business as required from time to time, for the benefit of the Company, at the direction of the Quality Assurance Person.
Maintain a professional demeanour and behaviour in the workplace. This includes dressing appropriately, treating colleagues and customers with respect, and following company policies and procedures.
The Employee should actively listen, express themselves clearly, and communicate information promptly and accurately to colleagues, managers, and clients. They should work well with others, contribute to group projects, share knowledge and ideas, and resolve conflicts constructively.
Ensure adaptability and willingness to take on new tasks or responsibilities as required, including adjusting to shifting priorities, and learning new skills.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Operations Team to ensure the production unit (including product onboarding, processing of product, packaging, order picking and fulfillment) are completed compliantly and efficiently.
Approving/Signing-off on operational procedures, compliance reports and other related QA/QC documents/systems used by the Operational Leads, as prescribed by the QAP.
Reviewing and revising testing, validation and data collection procedures.
Assist with the development of PCPs (Process Control Plans) where necessary.
Performing manual and automated quality/compliance checks.
Conducting inspection checks on goods and production processes and ensuring onsite personnel adhere to safety and quality regulations.
Advising on procedures to improve production efficiency.
Working cross-functionally with the Office Manager to approve and onboard suppliers, vendors, and new processing clients, and then assist with the receiving/ingesting process to ensure supplier's products are made ready for sale as soon as possible.
Help to oversee operations and implement and manage systems that ensure orders are consistently shipped out in a timely manner, and without shipping or packaging errors, and systems that ensure adherence to compliance, security and safety standards at all times.
Ensuring the day-to-day compliance and completion of all operational duties related to the Licenses with Health Canada, especially as it pertains to record keeping, security, health and safety, regular reporting and general compliance (personnel, communications, etc.).
