As the Dev Manager you will be responsible for owning/managing/driving the continuing development and operation of our Enterprise SaaS solution; an extremely valuable asset to the company and one with big career opportunities.

You will lead a development team in the design, the development, testing and operating a SaaS solution as well as working to improve our processes. You will help accelerate our growth by ensuring that exagens caters to the needs of different financial institutions in the USA and across Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and drive the day-to-day activities of a development team focusing on SaaS solution evolution and operation. Oversee all stages of the product including the design, development, testing, and the operation.
  • Ensure that the team members have a clear understanding of the expected deliverables, the goals of each initiative, and new product release timelines and milestones
  • Serve your team, empower them, remove barriers and help them be as successful as they can be.
  • Responsible for reviewing and assessing the performance of individuals and the team as a whole. Provide coaching and mentorship to help team members improve their skills and performance, and identify areas where training or development is needed.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the development team, customers and stakeholders regarding product-related issues
  • Monitor and evaluate product progress at each stage of the process
  • Drive the development team to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget and is following established engineering processes, practices and methodologies.
  • Create a positive and productive work environment for the team. Eliminate conflicts by early identification and addressing their sources. Promote collaboration and teamwork, and provide support and guidance to your senior engineers when needed.
Qualities and skills
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and industrious leader
  • A curious, fast learner with a history of innovative thinking
  • Ability to communicate in French and English
  • Be in charge of a product from creation to operation (2+ years)
  • Have experience in software development (back-end and front-end) (2+ years)
  • Manage, mentor and lead development teams (3+ years)
  • Experience in project management will be an asset
  • Experience in the following technologies will be an asset
    • Back-end technologies, for example: Java, spring boot, hibernate
    • Front-end technologies, for example: Node JS, React JS
    • SaaS technologies, for example: Kubernetes, docker, AWS services...
    • Security standards (SOC2, OWASP ASVS...)
    • development/quality best practices (Unit Test, CI/CD pipeline, testing strategy...)
