Marshall Canada requires a Paint and Assembly Support Fitter in Moncton, NB to join our team. Reporting to the Supervisor-Paint, and under the mentorship and supervision of the Fitter B – Assembly team and Team Leads, this role is responsible for providing flexible support to both paint and assembly departments.

Your responsibilities in the role:

Paint Department: Responsible for prep work on containers and components including but not limited to:

Masking, taping, sanding, and blasting, as appropriate; Under supervision, may mix paint, in accordance with paint manufacture's specifications; Under supervision, may assist with paint application; Work in accordance with paint shop procedures (Housekeeping and good working practices);

Assembly Department:

Install components and panels into deployable shelters; Provide suggestions and input to resolve any unexpected issues or challenges; Fitting of machined parts, sheet metal brackets, pipework, pumps and valves to deployable shelters using hand and power tools; Operate electric powered mobile equipment Participate in continuous improvement activities; Record materials used and time taken on Job Cards and on the electronic job tracking system; Adhere to all Health and Safety, and Quality policies and procedures; Due to projected manufacturing demands, there may be a requirement to work shifts and overtime Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor – Components & Assembly, Supervisor – Paint or delegates.

Knowledge of Health and Safety, and Environment issues; Commitment to high quality workmanship; Able to work well within a team and, following training, with minimal supervision; Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with other stakeholders; Attention to detail and the ability to interpret and follow work instructions, drawings, and specifications; Demonstrated mechanical aptitude; Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality; Previous experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment Understanding of lean manufacturing principles including 5S, Kanban and SMED

Must be eligible to meet the requirements of export control regulations, including the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and Canadian government security requirements.
