Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with a skilled team of Engineers and Research Scientists to enhance safe, scalable self-driving utilizing an AI-driven approach.
  • Enhance sensor intrinsic and extrinsic calibration quality.
  • Ensure sensor calibration aligns with autonomy and sensor simulation team requirements.
  • Optimize the calibration process for the vehicle fleet with the hardware and operations teams.
  • Research and implement advanced calibration methods for cutting-edge LiDAR, IMU, Camera, and other sensors.
  • Develop and automate calibration procedures for a fleet of autonomous vehicles.
  • Engage in technical dialogues, sharing insights, and collaborating with fellow researchers and engineers.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics or related fields with at least 3 years of industry experience.
  • Proficient in Python and C++ programming.
  • Hands-on experience with computer vision for robotics.
  • Knowledge of multiview geometry.
  • Track record in developing and reviewing high-quality software in an industrial setting.
  • Team-oriented individual with an open-minded, helpful attitude.
  • Enthusiastic about self-driving tech, problem-solving, and fostering innovative solutions.

Bonus/Desirable Skills:
  • Previous exposure as a software manager, team lead, or technical lead.
  • Familiarity with LiDAR, radar, camera, GNSS & inertial sensors.
  • Experience in visual odometry, SLAM, SfM, and sensor calibration.
  • Proficiency in joint calibration of multiple sensors.
  • Expertise in software performance, optimization, and profiling.
  • Familiarity with Rust and/or CUDA.
  • Knowledge of bespoke, commercial, or opensource robotics frameworks.
  • Strong mathematical skills in linear algebra, probability, geometry, & optimization.

The annual salary for this role in the US ranges from $141,000 to $242,000 USD, along with competitive perks and benefits.

Additionally, Waabi (US) Inc. determines yearly salary ranges based on various factors and compensation practices.

The salary range reflects the target for new hire salaries across all US locations.
