Dynacare is currently searching for a Clinical Laboratory Assistance to join their team in Ottawa, Ontario. This is a Full-time role, working Monday-Friday from 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm with some rotational Saturday.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that all samples are properly labeled and identified before testing.
  • Follows established protocol for the handling of unsuitable samples.
  • Operates complex instruments following department procedures.
  • Performs simple noninterpretive testing procedures under the supervision of a qualified technologist.
  • Ensures all inquiries and problems are handled in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Performs routine equipment maintenance following documented procedures.
  • Documents all maintenance performed, including minor troubleshooting following manufacturer's instructions.
  • Ensures all quality control checks and standards are maintained
  • Other duties as assigned

Must have:

  • Secondary School Graduation Diploma
  • Graduate of an approved laboratory assistant course or equivalent
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to identify and prioritize problems; find corrective actions
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team centered environment.

Nice to have:

Knowledge of AS400 system/LIS
