Summary


The Liberal Party of Canada is seeking an Animator and Video Content Strategist for an opportunity to join a dedicated team of staff to support Justin Trudeau and our Liberal team's work to keep Canada moving forward.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop motion graphics for videos, websites, and animated GIFs
  • Actively participate in content creation, including brainstorming and pitching content ideas not limited to video
  • Work with the Creative team to ensure that all video and motion graphics products follow the most uptodate visual guidelines
  • Plan, shoot, edit and otherwise produce video products, including messages from the leader, the party president, Liberal Members of Parliament, and LPC staff, in close coordination with LPC social media and communications teams as needed
  • Draft scripts, including policy explainers, fundraising and promotional videos
  • Assist with the planning and production of national virtual events
  • Maintain database of audio and video assets
  • Maintain the studio and all studio equipment (including cameras, lights, microphones, etc.), and make recommendations on new purchases
  • Keep up to date with technology and best practices
  • Other duties as required

You'll need to have

  • A strong portfolio of motion graphics work and video editing
  • Experience with digital technology and editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, Adobe After Effects, etc.)
  • Creative mind and storytelling skills, understanding of timing, motivation, and narrative
  • Confidence in video production, attention to continuity, lighting, sound quality
  • Familiarity with postproduction work including animation, video effects, colourcorrection, sound editing, and video rendering
  • Good understanding of branding and working within established visual identity guidelines
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fastpaced environment
  • Selfstarter, able to handle multiple projects at a time
  • Strong writing skills
  • Other graphic design experience and familiarity with related software packages (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign)
  • Ability to communicate in both of Canada's official languages
  • Political experience

Your working conditions

  • Must be comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities and operational objectives
  • May be required to work unusual hours and periods at an accelerated pace, often balancing short deadlines and competing priorities
  • Must be available evenings and weekends
  • Ottawa based occasional travel within Canada may be required
  • Permanent, Fulltime Position

Responsabilités

  • Créer des animations graphiques destinées à des vidéos et à des sites Web, et des animations en format GIF.
  • Participer activement à la création de contenu, notamment en prenant part aux séances de remueméninges et en proposant des idées ne se limitant pas aux vidéos.
  • Collaborer avec l'équipe de création pour s'assurer que toutes les vidéos et toutes les animations graphiques respectent les lignes directrices les plus actuelles en matière d'identité visuelle.
  • Planifier, enregistrer, monter et produire des vidéos, dont des messages du chef, de la présidente du parti, de députés libéraux et d'employés du PLC, en collaboration étroite avec les équipes de médias sociaux et de communications du PLC, s'il y a lieu.
