Job Description

Working with General Manager, directly supervises employees involved in the provision of culinary (dining), housekeeping, and laundry services. This includes hiring, training, and performance management of these employees. Fosters and promotes new initiatives; interprets, implements, and evaluates policies and procedures; monitors and evaluates service delivery.

Responsibilities
  1. Creating an incredible dining experience for our residents and guests.
  2. Creating a warm and positive dining experience through customer-service excellence in every interaction.
  3. Supervising, leading, scheduling, and motivating dining room staff.
  4. Serving meals with flourish, according to proper food-handling procedures.
  5. Prepare in-service training and complete inventories as assigned by the manager.
  6. Maintaining and managing standards of service in the dining room.
  7. Assisting the Executive Chef in hiring Servers.
  8. Supervises and mentors the Hospitality Services teams in the provision of high-quality client-centered services.
  9. Follows policies, procedures, and industry standards and is aligned with the Optima Way.
  10. Leads the delivery of flexible hospitality services in support of resident service.
  11. Develops and adjusts cleaning and laundry schedules, oversees, and evaluates completion of housekeeping and commercial laundry services.
Qualifications and Experience

You have restaurant or hotel serving experience, along with your Food Safe Level 1, Serving it Right, and WHMIS certifications. You have 3 years of experience as a server team leader or similar position in the hospitality or seniors living industry. You demonstrated the ability to supervise, coordinate, and plan the day-to-day operation of the dining room. You're upbeat and positive; bringing the good energy day to day. You can hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment, solving problems like a true pro. You're a details person, an excellent communicator, and a customer service superstar. You understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families, and the professionals engaged in their care.

Food Safe Certification, Clear Police Information Check, Clear Vulnerable Sector Check, COVID-19 vaccination proof. This requirement may be waived if you have received an exemption through the provincial government.
