Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) provides service to approximately 6,100 students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 in 34 schools and is one of the largest employers in the Grande Prairie/Spirit River region.

Peace Wapiti Academy is seeking candidates who enjoy working in a student-focused and collaborative environment. We invite applications for a Temporary Full-Time Connect Educational Assistant (30 Hours/Week) .

The Educational Assistant works under the supervision of a certificated teacher. This position requires an individual who is able to work with and support students who are completing courses through an independent platform. The successful candiate will demonstrate flexibility, problem solving skills, organizational skills, and computer skills (google drive, google sheets, gmail applications and student data systems) The individual will need to possess a high degree of patience in working with students one on one and confidence in establishing connections with individuals in the workplace.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Educational Assistant Diploma is preferred

CPR/First Aid would be considered an asset

Experience working with children in a classroom/organized setting is preferred

You have the ability and willingness to perform required physical tasks, as well as assist with personal care.

You have the ability to meet outside of school hours.

You have the ability to work as part of a team.

Terms and conditions of employment are outlined in Policy GGG: Personnel Policy for Non-Teaching Staff. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $19.48/hour to $25.64/hour.
