Job Summary

Looking for a Contractual Furniture/Millwork (woodwork) designer with aptitude or knowledge of working on very detailed Millwork shop drawings. Projects are mostly large restaurant interiors, hotel interiors, and high-end residential interiors.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed shop drawings with accurate and clearly labeled measurements, guides, materials, finishes, and specs.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers during the development of the products.
  • Communicate effectively in a team environment.
  • Utilize millwork expertise to communicate with clients.
  • Draw and detail very accurately and with precision.
  • Willing to learn other software if required.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of furniture construction preferred.
  • At least 8 years of Millwork / Furniture product development experience.
  • Previous detailing experience in architectural woodworking is strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of a variety of construction and finish materials including woods and laminates, metals, plastics and fabrics.
  • Ability to read, understand and develop shop drawings.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drafting ability and thorough knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes.
  • Skilled in the use of computers and 3D modeling programs, specifically Solid Works / Inventor, and AutoCAD.
  • Working knowledge of engineering and design/drafting standards.
