They are currently looking for a seasoned Senior Electrical Engineer to handle all aspects of electrical engineering, automation design, programming, and overall enhancement of electromechanical components and systems for strapping machinery and solutions.

Job Description:

Responsible for electrical engineering, automation design, programming, and overall support and enhancement of electromechanical components and systems for strapping machinery and solutions.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Offer engineering support for manufacturing strapping machinery by creating customized workflows, electrical solutions, and Bill of Materials (BoM) to meet customer needs.
  • Translate specs into a practical controls design, produce and update electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using CAD software provided by the Company.
  • Create and assist in the development of new PLC and HMI programs, as well as modifications to existing programs, to achieve the defined functionality of strapping machines and systems.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Design Engineering to incorporate automation components into electromechanical systems for a machine that operates reliably and aligns with design requirements.
  • Conduct testing and field performance monitoring to troubleshoot and enhance machine performance.
  • Ensure project deliverables are met on time and within cost targets for each project.
  • Leverage knowledge of machine-strap system interface to optimize overall strapping system performance in each machine design.
  • Provide support to field service personnel with field installation, advanced troubleshooting, training, and development.
  • Assist shop personnel with expert issue investigation and troubleshooting, training, development, and contribute to enhancing machine assembly techniques.
Other Duties:

Collaborate with the sales team to address special requirements in specific applications. Offer design input, aid in application analysis and quoting, and provide documentation to ensure agreed-upon performance and schedules. Collaborate with Company field and operational personnel and customers to define equipment specifications to be marketed by EAM-Mosca. This role may involve some supervisory responsibilities to oversee a team of engineers and automation specialists.

Profile and Background:

Minimum of 6 years of experience in providing electrical engineering solutions in electromechanical equipment and systems. P.Eng designation is highly desirable. Possession of a post-secondary degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution, with a master's degree considered an asset. Proficiency in e-plan for electrical schematics, some familiarity with mechanical drawings in PTC Creo Parametric is beneficial. Skilled in engineering data, new item creation and maintenance, project management, change management, in a business ERP environment. Proficient in programming in Ladder Logic, C, and Structured Text with experience on various hardware including Siemens, Allen Bradley, and B&R. Familiarity with project management, from concept to documentation and release. Ability to refine initial concepts into simple and efficient final designs to ensure high performance and cost competitiveness of EAM-Mosca systems. Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with customers, salespersons, management, and shop personnel to contribute to a united team focused on overall company achievements.
