Roles Available:

Data Analyst Intern - Data Research (4 months)

Data analysts are the people responsible for evaluating data to develop reports and visualizations that identify trends or analytics that help companies make better-informed business decisions.

They are comfortable working with structured data, performing analytics, building appropriate visualizations, and drawing conclusions based on empirical evidence rather than gut feel.

They are good communicators that can translate their findings into business-friendly language.

As they increase in seniority, their understanding of statistical concepts becomes more important as they will start to use this knowledge to guide their studies and evaluations.

Data Engineer Intern - Data & AI Governance (4, 8, 12 months)
Responsible for building out the Data & AI Governance metadata store and metadata layer within Azure Data Lake.

This will be used as a single source of truth for all metadata to be consumed by internal P&T users and within the Dayforce product.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop reports and visualizations from structured data using Power BI
  • Prepare datasets by writing scripts in SQL or Python (or equivalent)
  • Creating presentations that summarize findings
  • Create written blogs or articles on findings
  • Design Metadata Store
  • Design layer to feed terms and definitions from Alation to Data Lake
  • Development of Metadata store and layer
  • Develop and maintain any critical pipelines
  • Collaborate with Data Platform team

Qualifications/Skills and experience we value:

  • Ability to use Power BI, DAX, and Power Query no need to be an expert
  • SQL, Python (or equivalent), database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) frameworks
  • Able to clearly document your steps and reasoning
  • Work diligently to ensure all measures are taken to protect our data and our clients data
  • Ability to look at data and ask questions
  • Effectively write hypotheses to test
  • Experience with ETL, data modelling, data warehousing, and business intelligence architecture
  • Knowledge of programming, scripting or statistical computer languages (e.g. SQL, PowerShell, Python)
  • Proven track record of quickly learning new technologies
  • Databricks or Apache Spark experience

  • Experience with Azure cloud technologies for creating data pipelines (Data Factory, Azure Synapse)
