A Snapshot of Your Day


In this position, you'll manage both internal (70%) and external (30%) Indigenous relations, develop strategic engagement plans, and cultivate opportunities for partnership.

You'll also promote the principles of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) within our everyday operations across all functions and business areas.

Additionally, you'll collaborate with our public affairs team to create outreach strategies for future Indigenous employees.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Manage the implementation of our commitment to complete the Canadian Council of Aboriginal Business Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) program and other Indigenous relations commitments companywide
  • Lead issue management on large industrial projects in conjunction with our clients and project proponents to assist their project planning
  • Collaborate closely with the Indigenous supply chain in Canada to develop partnerships with clients and stakeholders
  • Establish key relationships within Indigenous communities, stakeholders and commercial suppliers
  • Represent the company at various trade shows, conferences, and consultations with different levels of government and suppliers

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant postsecondary diploma
  • 4 to 7 years of proven leadership experience in building relations with Indigenous communities at provincial/national levels within the energy and/or manufacturing sectors
  • Strong experience in managing projects and budgets
  • Effective community engagement strategies
  • Solid understanding of Indigenous peoples' cultural and business practices, paired with effective collaboration skills for working with community leaders
  • Ability travel to different regions of Canada is required
