Position Overview:The Shipper/Receiver/Forklift driver is responsible to ensuring the safe operation of a forklift within the plant while loading and unloading trucks and distributing steel coils and bins through the facility.
Requirements:
- Provide assistance and support to production staff.
- Load and unload trucks using forklift.
- Receive and confirm inventory count from all goods received and report to appropriate personnel.
- Using forklift to move steel coils, shipping bins and dunnage within the plant.
- Report to multiple managers to provide support.
- Maintain physical layout, condition and organization of production floor daily clean up of area.
- Aid in maintaining safeguards in plant and in any operations conducted.
- Maintain professional work ethic and respect of all employees
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks inside/outside of general job description and as required.
- Follow direction from other managers.
- Follow all procedures and properly fill in any necessary documents affiliated with job responsibilities.
- Pick, pack, sort, put away stock using a forklift ensuring that there are mínimal errors
- Keep shipping/receiving areas clean & organized
- Assist with Inventory counts as required
- Work safely and abide by OH&S standards/requirements
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
- Attention to detail in all areas of work
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment
- Forklift certification is required
- Knowledge/familiar with using a computer is an asset
