Under the supervision of the Warehouse Manager, the Schedule Planning Technician manages work teams, controls manufacturing processes and adherence to the manning schedule which is daily and weekly meanwhile respecting the collective bargaining agreement.


More precisely, the Schedule Planning Technician:

  • Respect budget planning process and scheduling of site to support the weekly targets as posted.
  • Processes hourly scheduling requests and maintains weekly schedules while adhering to CBA language.
  • Close weekly payroll for hourly staff.
  • Supports the warehouse supervisor in daily resource planning, scheduling, and administrative activities.
  • Ensures compliance with the Health & Safety, environmental and food safety programs, and sees to it that the master quality plan (NSF) is adhered to, implemented, and updated.
  • Ensures the implementation of the collective agreement; and abides to the language.
  • Schedules warehouse committees (Health & Safety, grievance, union, training).
  • Ensures monitoring and updating records for training, quality, health, and safety.
  • Order supplies for hourly staff (jackets, hardhats, glasses, etc.).
  • Maintain locker assignment for hourly staff.
  • Monitors realtime Forecast vs Volume, taking corrective action to optimize Labour and minimize delays and service interruption in the network
  • Generates weekly and monthly reports in relation to schedules, shipments, overtime, volume vs forecast, unplanned absences, etc.
  • Using methods from the Lean Toolkit to drive Operational Excellence in all administrative duties
  • Act as the communication point for MHE's, supervisors & managers for announcements and dialog within the team
  • Develop reports in software such as Power BI, MS Excel, VBA, and other programs to drive Continuous Improvement Model
  • Participate in outofscope projects to drive best business practices within the organization

Requirements:

  • College Diploma or relevant years of experience in an administrative capacity.
  • Two (2) years' experience with scheduling / understanding plant environments with direct involvement in a unionized production facility and CBA agreements.
  • Must be customer focused and detail oriented in all aspects of scheduling employee, adjusting, resolving any conflicts.
  • Strong people and communication skills are a must for success in this position.
  • Understanding of employment legislation and regulations.
  • Strong computer literacy & trouble shooting
  • Advanced Level on MS Excel, MS Office Suite, and Cronos or compatible Payroll Software
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Active listening and being open to making accommodations
  • Ability to work within a scheduling database
  • Organization and logistics planning
  • Attention to detail
  • Problemsolving and multitasking
  • Data entry/typing skills
