Job Summary

Working with the Head Coach, you will assist in creating a culture that embraces and supports the development of student-athletes.

The Assistant Coach is an integral member of the team and will also have the opportunity to enhance the program through partnerships, regional engagement and advancement.

The Queen's Women's Volleyball Team is hard-working, dedicated and extremely supportive of each other on and off the court.

We are a competitive, passionate team that is focused on our team goals and becoming the best athletes and people we can be in pursuit of those goals.

The team comes first and the synergy between everyone on the team is paramount to our success.

This position is located in Kingston, Ontario and flexible work hours, including evening and weekends are required.

Job Description:


With the leadership support of the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach will perform coaching duties in large group and individual coaching sessions that build high performance.

By analyzing student-athlete performance targets and feedback mechanisms the Assistant coach will plan practices, implement performance improvements at practice and regular review the practice environment.

This position will provide individual performance feedback for student-athletes and assist with goal setting for development.

As a great opportunity to develop for an Assistant Coach, this position will be involved in team selection for OUA and USports competitions.

This position will also provide administrative assistance support and other daily activities in support of the program.


The Assistant Coach is focused on safety in a competitive environment and works to enhance the holistic needs of student-athletes by coordinating and connecting resources for students.


This position will be a valued member of the Athletics & Recreation team and will support priorities and initiatives of the department that contribute to developing student-athletes.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Tell us your journey to become a Coach

As an Assistant Coach you may have a variety of playing and coaching experience.

Tell us about your pathway to coach in the sport of volleyball and what you have learned along the way to help volleyball athletes develop and be the best they can be.

Your path to coaching may include working with student-athletes, competitions at a provincial, national or international level. Tell us about your leadership skills and your development as a Performance Coach with NCCP. Describe if you have had the opportunity to coach at a post-secondary level or international level or playing experience.


The Assistant Coach will be able to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening and will possess a valid Province of Ontario Class G driver's license.
