JOB OVERVIEW
The Canadian Cancer Society's Camp Goodtimes provides children and youth affected by cancer and their families with an unforgettable overnight summer camp experience in a medically supervised, safe and supportive environment.
The Canadian Cancer Society believes that time spent at camp allows kids to just be kids, away from their diagnosis.
Camp Goodtimes is proud to provide programming that gives joy, confidence, support, and hope for children with cancer and their families.
The Operations Program Leader will live on-site at Camp Goodtimes hosted by UBC's Loon Lake Lodge and Retreat Centre, near Maple Ridge, BC.
He/She/They will lead the Dining Hall volunteer team to wash dishes, set up meals, organize water stations and general maintenance around camp.
He/She/They is also responsible for training staff and volunteers on a fleet of golf carts and support the operations of camp.
This position is a member of the program leader team at camp. The program leader team is responsible for instructing camp activities and supporting other staff and volunteers in delivering programs.They will also have other daily responsibilities such as helping with supervision of campers, evening cabin support, facilitating early morning and evening programs, program logistics, and care/maintenance of camp program equipment.

- May 13, June 10, 11, 27, 2
- In person training in Vancouver or at camp at Loon Lake Lodge and Retreat Centre, Maple Ridge, BC
July
- August 6th, onsite living at camp for 6 sessions at Loon Lake Lodge and Retreat Centre, Maple Ridge, BC (at least 24 hours off each week). Meals and accommodation included.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Provide onsite training to weekly Dining Hall volunteer teams with collaboration from rental site staff
- Supervise Dining Hall Team of 45 each session
- Help execute allcamp programs and creative skits throughout camp
- Manage golf cart fleet and lead any golf cart training to volunteers
- Manage the execution of water stations and snack throughout the day
- Facilitating creative cabinbased programming in afternoons, evenings and allcamp programs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in camping, youth recreation and or/ experiential education
- Previous experience supervising teams
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including teambuilding, and facilitation skills
- Ability to take initiative, problem solve and work as a team member.
- Experience or understanding of cancer diagnosis and it's physiological, social, and emotional impact or a willingness to learn.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C
- Criminal Record Search including vulnerable sector check (once hired)
- Must provide proof of uptodate childhood immunizations

Rate of pay:
$130.69/ per day
