This role is unique as you are required to document, historize and codify where required the corporate decisions and processes.

You will need to ensure that documents are formatted, stored, indexed, and accessed efficiently, while also maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

Developing and implementing document management policies and procedures to ensure efficient document handling, storage, and retrieval processes.

This opportunity is office-based in Calgary, AB with occasional travel to Saskatchewan, and US.

Corporate Historian/Document Specialist

Accurately interpret and document corporate meetings, workshops and decisions
Enable the development of the Corporate Operating Manual
Enter data and take notes into spreadsheets, databases, or document management systems with accuracy and attention to detail.

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and handle documents and records in accordance with privacy policies and regulations.
Define and manage Revision control and review cycles
Lead the development of review and approval corporate matrix
Creating, organizing, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
Develop interface and transfer of information/documents procedures with corporate head office, engineering and construction firms and vendors.

Communication and Relationship Management:
Strong problem-solving skills to address document management challenges, troubleshoot technical issues, and develop innovative solutions.
Ability to anticipate potential issues and proactively mitigate risks associated with document management activities. Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including executives, managers, and frontline staff.

Bachelor's degree in information science, library science, records management, business administration, or a related field.
~ 2-5 years of experience in document management, records management, information governance, or a related field.
~ Possess strong technical writing skills, adept at translating complex technical information into clear, concise, and understandable documents.
~ Experience working with document management systems (DMS), electronic document management systems (EDMS), or enterprise content management (ECM) document scanning, imaging, indexing, and metadata tagging processes.
~ Familiarity with document scanning, imaging, indexing, and metadata tagging processes.
~ Proficiency in document management software and systems, such as Microsoft SharePoint, Documentum, OpenText, FileNet, or Laserfiche.
